JACK MORROCCO DA FRSA
Jack Morrocco DA FRSA was born in 1953. He studied at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art (1970-1974).
One of Scotland's most senior (impressionist) artists - this represents a very rare opportunity to BUY one of his 'limited availability' paintings.
PAM CARTER DA
Pam Carter (b.1952) studied at GSA 1970-1974.
One of Scotland's most senior artists (post-impressionist - expressionist), Carter is now synonymous with portrayals of the West of Scotland - from mugs to calendars, Carter's signature style is recognised across the world.
SCOTT NAISMITH
Scott Naismith (b.1978) trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art (1996-2000).
Naismith describes his art as atmospheric abstraction. He is a young but highly successful modern artist who interprets the Scottish landscape differently from the more traditional artists. His studies reflect a fascination with the properties of clouds, the fast changing light conditions and the surface features/elements in the West Coast of Scotland. He uses a modern palette to elevate and intensify his scenes, as he wants the viewer to engage with his emotional (rather than physical) reaction to what he observes.
RYAN MUTTER
Ryan Mutter (b.1978) studied at GSA 1996-2001.
Ryan Mutter is registering his artistic presence in the contemporary art market !
He uses his unique monochromatic underpainting technique to create powerful and nostalgic insights into our industrial and shipbuilding heritage.
A brilliant young artist with his own voice, who has a very bright artistic future.
ANGELA REILLY
Angela Reilly (b.1966) trained at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee (1984-87).
For the sophisticated taste.
Reilly pre-dated the success of Jenny Saville (b.1970) GSA (1988-92) who is best known for her large scale, fleshy, obese female figures and who recently sold a painting at auction for £6.8M.
Reilly examines the female form, stripped down both in the flesh and in the metaphorical (psychological) sense suggestive of vulnerability, exposure and deeper insecurities.
Brilliantly executed and meaningful paintings for the art purist.
HELEN TURNER PAI PPAI
Helen Turner (b.1937) was awarded PAI in 2000. In 2001 she became president.
Turner trained in design with James Templeton, the scottish carpet manufacturer. She also studied part time at GSA. She is responsible for designs that are in the Waldorf Astoria and Plaza, New York, the San Francisco Opera House and many famous ocean going liners.
I remarked to her recently that she is painting particularly well. She is classically trained and shares her insights into the west coast of Scotlands and the everyday plants that she tends in her wonderful garden.
Classical impressionist techniques displayed by one of our contemporary painting masters.
