Naismith (b.1978) is one of the powerhouses of Scottish contemporary art.
He has created his own very unique artistic language - semi-abstracted, expressive modern landscapes that will define his position within the art history of the period.
He is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee (1996-2000).
There is nothing simple about his paintings - each one is very carefully constructed and thought out. His approach is very cerebral - formalism, colour theory, nature, physics, metaphysics, atmospheric perspective, refraction, light filtration, musical metaphors, resonance, particle and molecular theory, geometry, aerial perspective, dissonance, hope, optimism, spirituality and in this case (chinese philosophy) taoism.
These deep layers are what makes the paintings so special and desired - it is the Naismith magic formula !

Naismith cannot keep up with the demand for his paintings. 
This is our third annual solo show with Naismith. We are very lucky to be able to bring our customers this very privileged access to a large body (35 paintings) of his work.
