MEET THE ARTISTS on the Opening Day Saturday 28th January 2023 between 12.00am and 4.00pm.
Welcome to the New Year 2023.
An exciting and very important POWER SHOW to kickstart a new year and art season.
KACINIEL's hugely popular Pop Art plays an important role in contemporary Scottish Art. She is one of the few artists that connects to the popular culture of the period.
She presents objects (typically food and consumer goods) that we are all familiar with - the items that we were taught (through advertising) to eat or use.
The (undertone) irony is that in driving mass consumption we have (potentially) encouraged the enjoyment and use of things that might be bad for us or indeed the planet.
Clever art that will standout when (art) history does its review of the period !
ROSIE's abstraction sits at the modern edge of contemporary Scottish art.
She is one of life's likeable characters who has a young outlook and shares her upbeat, energetic view of her life and experiences through her artworks with her audience.
Her buyers are typically young-minded and appreciate a more modern rather than classical art construct. They understand that art has changed (updated) from a time-worn, traditional retinal
(representational) presentation to a more modern non-representational (intellectual) art form.
Buyers are typicall early-stage buyers through to late-stage where the buyer wants to rebalance and modernise their collection.
If you want to start the year well, you should take this opportunity to come and meet these two special artists and get to know their work.
Please note that the paintings shown are only the early listings.
More paintings will appear progressively towards the catalogue deadline around Friday 13th January 2023.

ABSTRACTION
"Strictly speaking, the word abstract means to separate or withdraw something from something else.
The term can be applied to art that is based on an object, figure or (in this case) landscape, where forms have been simplified or schematised."
"Since the early 1900's, abstract art has formed a central stream of modern art."

This fabulous body of work was produced by Rowan following an Artist Residency on the island of Hydra, Greece together with visits to Athens, and the islands of Milos and Amorgos in the summer (2 months) of 2022. It reflects her solo travels and the various inspiring encounters that she had with the stunning landscapes and architecture of Greece.
