DAVID SMITH RSW

TWO PERSON SHOW Michael Clark PAI RSW and David Smith RSW.

Saturday 2nd March to Sunday 10th March 2019 from 11.00am to 5.00pm daily.

David Smith (b.1957) only entered a full time career as an artist in 2009 (aged 52). He was elected RSW in 2011.

Smith is a modern landscapist who brings us his own style of landscape representation. His approach is based on his interest in the  'extreme' outdoors - trekking, climbing, sailing, cycling or skiing. Not one for sitting in a seat, he has really experienced every aspect of the terrain in all weather conditions.

This informs the way he paints. He has a very lucid approach, extracting the natural and man-made elements from his scenes, summarising and translating them into his shortened vision or commentary of the scene.

A wonderful individual style with lots of power and character, that earns it's place in any meaningful scottish art collection.
